Format: Two 2 1/2 hour workshops - You'll need to Pick up your work after drying, bisque and 2nd firing (approx. 3 weeks from last wet clay work).

Course Fee: $75 for 2 sessions. Includes all materials, recycled brown clay, tool usage, firing, glazing and instruction. You are allowed to use your own clays, glazes etc., but they must be firable at high fire cone 6.
Hand building with clay ~ Garden Stakes/Square Dish or 3 tiered condiment dish
Make all kinds of things !! Hand building with clay is an extremely gratifying art form. In this class, we'll make several garden stakes either large for outdoor or small for indoor herb gardens. We'll also make a square slumped serving dish. The garden stakes and will be rubbed with red iron oxide and high fired. For the We'll roll, measure and cut, stamp and impress, glaze and If there is time, we'll make a square dish slumped and embossed. In the second session, we'll clean up the pieces you made, glaze them and make a 2 or 3 section condiment server. There are infinite possibilities with stoneware, and you will learn basic slab rolling techniques, scoring and slipping, embossing and slumping. I will provide all the materials necessary, all you'll need is your imagination. Come prepared to get a little dirty, so wear your favorite "grubbies". I'll glaze and fire them for you and you'll have them within 10 days ! You will be thrilled with your efforts and results.
