Where to Meet

For our program classes and workshops, go into the Kilburn Mill building through the orange door which is at the opposite end of the building from the main entrance it will say 101 West Rodney French Blvd. near Globe Furniture, go up the stairs to the 2nd floor, look to the right and follow the yellow signs for NBACE!  We'll be meeting in Studios # 2-60.  Occasionally in the summer, we'll meet "off campus" Because our ceilings are 12' high, and our walls are only 9' high, we cannot have air conditioning, so in the summer, we meet at 148 Butler St. where it is air conditioned, and only 3 minutes from Kilburn Mill !

Course Registration and Confirmation

You are officially enrolled, and your name is placed on the class roster as soon as we receive your online or in person registration form and payment. Please note that we do not send written confirmations, but you will receive one automatically after you register. Unless we contact you, please assume that you are enrolled in the class(es) of your choice. Students will be notified days ahead, in the event their courses aren’t running due to lack of enrollment. Classes will run usually with a minimum of 4 students. Most classes and workshops reach capacity at 12.  Please always check the materials list/fee to ensure you're prepared for the workshop/class

Who can take Classes/Workshops?

NB-ACE courses are open to participants 10 years of age and older, some classes are pretty sophisticated, and many young folks would do well in them, but we ask that parents or a guardian accompany children under 14 and if they do, they must register as well unless stated.  We have not begun our children's program yet, but when we do, we promise it will be outstanding !!

Snow Days

The NB-ACE follows the closing scheduling for New Bedford Public Schools. If they are closed for snow, we are closed that day, including evening courses. Teachers are required to make up classes which were cancelled due to snow days by the end of the winter semester.

Registration

If possible, please register early to ensure that classes will run and to secure a seat in the class. Registration stays open usually for most classes until the day before the beginning of each class or workshop. Classes and workshops are staggered to begin at various times throughout the month. Please look for upcoming and pop-up events on our website: https://www.nbartsandculturalemporium.com  You'll be happily surprised if you check us out often !

Private Parties, Corporate Bonding Events

Just give us a call, and we'll schedule you in and create a registration all your own for your event.  You may request any of the multitude of activities we offer as your project for the event, and we can help you plan for your event, even shop and decorate once we're sure of the colors etc.  Cisco Brewery is close by too if you want to make reservations for your party there after your time with us, or bring a cake and cater it, we can even help with that.

Discounts

Occasionally we'll offer select classes and workshops which offer discounts such as “bring a friend” at 50% off! The friend pays only half of the class fee. This does not include materials or modeling fees if any.  We also have Thrifty Thursdays and sometimes even FREE offerings (which need registration, so there are no surprises !)

We also have an awesome policy which is that The Fifth workshop you attend is FREE !!  We'll have proof of your registration to help you along and remind you when your 5th class is coming up !

Materials

NBACE is pleased to offer most workshops with materials included.  Occasionally, we'll ask you to bring rags, or your own t-shirts etcl, but we are allowing you experiment with the materials and decide if you like the skill before investing in the supplies.   However, if an instructor requires materials, they will add it to their page on our website.

Cancellations

It is extremely uncommon, but the program reserves the right to cancel classes that are under-enrolled, or to change dates, times, and locations when necessary, and to substitute instructors. We will contact you with all cancellations and changes to course dates, times and locations.
