Acrylic Painting with Ryan Santos

This is what a lot of you have been waiting for.  A real acrylic painting class with a real artist.  Here you'll learn traditional methods of how to paint, different styles, color mixing, how not to make mud.  You'll learn perspective, shading, texture, image transference, under painting, how to use acrylic paints, some gel medium and glazing techniques, brush strokes, which brushes are appropriate for what style.    Working from images and real life, we will lean toward realism experimenting with a mixture of all subjects from traditional landscapes, figurative and still life work.  

Have your GPS take you to 101 West Rodney French Blvd. in New Bedford.  Once there, please park on the end of the building AWAY from the main entrance.  You'll see an ORANGE door that says Mattress Handup...enter there and go up the stairs.  At the top of the stairs...follow small yellow signs for NBACE.  We're right around the corner behind the mural  !!  

Several different sized brushes suitable for acrylic painting (flats, rounds, etc.) 

Several 11X14" pre-stretched canvases (you only need to bring 1 to the first class). 

Acrylic Paints in a tube:

You can begin by purchasing a set at Ocean State Job Lot, very inexpensively, but you will need to purchase larger tubes as you continue.
