Bug Off ! Make your own Bug Spray and Tick Repellent with Essential Oils !

In this workshop, you'll learn to make your own Insect Repellents, using a base along with essential oils, which are not only safe and effective, but they smell fantastic !  We'll make individual batches for flying insects and for ticks.  I'm never without mine all summer, I have one in the car, the beach bag, on the table and outside on under the umbrella.  You'll thank yourself and be truly amazed at how something so fragrant can be so effective.  You'll want to go home and stock up on the ingredients and never be without. 

Karen was turned on to the effectiveness and wonder of essential oils by a friend years ago.  She's been making bug sprays, tinctures and remedies ever since.  She is also an itchy mosquito magnate and is armed with a bottle at all times, whether gardening, picking blueberries or just sitting at the beach, she is a prime target for flying vectors and this essential oil concoction is a fragrant refuge and tolerable alternative to deet and other harsh chemicals.   Karen Charbonneau Zukas is a graduate of Tufts university and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston with a master’s  degree in education from Western New England University. She is a recognized portrait painter and potter and former columnist for the Bulletin in Boston. She has been teaching various subjects, primarily advanced ESL, fine art, writing, test prep, debate and humanities; at universities, preparatory, public, private and international schools and community ed in Boston and now locally for over 35 years. She and her family moved back to the south coast in 2013. She is currently working on a book which is a series of short animal stories from her personal experiences.
