Traditional Calligraphy ~ Classical Style
Express yourself not only through words, but through a visual orchestra of letters ! We'll focus on the very appealing Traditional Italic Calligraphy, but we will touch on other styles such as Foundational hand and Copperplate Script and determine which to emulate. You'll learn which pens to use and how to use them, which papers and inks are best, techniques, and styles of calligraphy, guidelines, consistency, visual judgement, spacing and layout You'll learn proper pen handling, basic strokes and letter formation, and how to best connect letters to form words, ultimately enabling you to create beautiful and expressive handwriting. We'll practice letter by letter then as we get the letters with ease, we'll talk about spacing and size. You'll have opportunities to practice your skills and develop your own unique calligraphy style, beacause, like your voice, you will bring your own unique touch to the page.
