Fee: $45 ~ All Materials included to make and decorate a medium/large diamond kite, bright ripstop nylon for diamond kite, dowels, tape, thread, one spool of string, tail material, paints, brushes, instructions. Additional kite kits can be purchased for $25.00.
Let's Go Fly a KITE !!
This is a rewarding and exhilerating event ! Come on down and make your very own personalized large Diamond Kite ! It's a great project for any one and a wonderful project to do with a youngster. Great for couples, cousins, siblings, friends and neighbors ! This is a Super Fun and Memorable Day !! These bright diamond shaped kites are complete with a tail and tell tails (for wind direction). You'll choose your Ripstop nylon color, decorate (optional) with either nylon shapes/dots or paint, you can bring a simple design to paint for example; a flower, butterfly or ladybug or use our ideas. You'll then attach the sail pockets, dowels, tail, telltails and string and Voila ! You've got an awesome kite. We'll then head down to Fort Tabor (a 5 minute ride from Kilburn Mill) and FLY our new kites !! Adults are welcome to make a kite, or bring a child and you can make one kite per adult/child combo, additional kites are $25. Children must be accompanied by their parent/guardian at all times.
Have your GPS take you to 101 West Rodney French Blvd. in New Bedford. Once there, please park on the end of the building AWAY from the main entrance. You'll see an ORANGE door that says Mattress Handup...enter there and go up the stairs. At the top of the stairs...follow small yellow signs for NBACE. We're right around the corner behind the mural !!
